Data University – A great resource for beginners & pros alike.

by Brian Handrigan on June 16, 2008

Direct & data driven marketing are key drivers in the evolution of Accountable Marketing. With that in mind, have you ever wondered where to go to learn more about everything from Data Processing to Database Marketing to Data Privacy? The good news is that there are many places to learn about each of these topics independently – but there is also single place you can go to for both live & on-demand web-cast sessions: DataUniversity.com.

When I first spoke to Mark Graham – one of the founders – about the concept some 4 plus years ago; I thought it was a very intriguing idea to build an educational resource of relevant content across organizational disciplines, driven by industry leaders and made accessible through interactive dialogue. What I wasn’t so sure about, was whether they could pull it off. The logistics around attracting and coordinating speakers and session topics that interested participants would be daunting enough, but also attracting, converting and keeping members to keep things going is difficult in any time. As I said, Mark sold me on his conviction for the idea and I was happy to join the Faculty of the College of Marketing & Communications and led a session on Intelligent Email Marketing and co-presented a session on Optimizing Marketing Communications with colleague Maurice Parisian. I know I found the experience rewarding, I hope those that participated both live and on-demand benefitted as well.

There content has grown considerably since those early days and I’m sure will continue to do so and be a valuable resource as both the Database Marketing and Accountable Marketing landscapes continue to gain acceptance in marketing departments across the nations and around the globe.

Have you benefitted from Data University or another Database / Accountable Marketing Resource, let me know and I will try and share it with everyone.
